Assistants aid

General information

If classes attended by a person who move on a wheelchair take place in a building inaccessible for this person and there is not possible to change a room, transportation assistants grant their help in getting around such a place. Similarly, if classes are planned in different buildings, and a student because of his or her disability is unable to get around independently, an assistant's help is necessary.  Help of the assistants  is granted to a student by a qualification commission for transport services. Routes permanently used for getting around during the  semester, should be reported at the Office for Persons with Disabilities,  before the semester starts. A single necessity should be addressed at least two days before a planned tour.  A student bears full responsibility for making a request for the transport.

Using the transport services and the help of assistants means a need to issue and present a schedule of classes in advance. A student is able to do this only if an office of a dean makes a schedule available in a convenient advance. Often, the possibility  of providing the disabled students with services they need, depends  on a flexibility of the staff of deans offices who create schedules of classes.

For the coordination of the work of the assistants  is responsible Mr. Tomasz Nurzyński.
