RESOLUTION NO 156
OF THE SENATE OF THE UNIVERSITY OF
WARSAW
issued on 17-th December 2003
on conditions of studying for persons with disabilities at the University of Warsaw
On the
basis of title 48, section 1, subsection 1 of the Higher Education Act, issued
on 12-th September 1986 and of §31, section 1 of the Statute of the University
of Warsaw,
issued on 18-th September 1991,
considering the right of all citizens for education regardless their disability
and striving for providing for persons with disabilities full and equal access
to higher education, as well as respecting up-to-date achievements of the
University of Warsaw in this field, the Senate states as follows:
§1
University of
Warsaw , mentioned later as the University, takes up and will take
up all possible activities aiming at creation of conditions for full
participation of persons with disabilities in all aspects of an academic life. In particular, the University will strive at further removing of
architectural barriers, as well as any barriers in access to information. The
University will undertake organizational activities to create equal
opportunities for persons with disabilities and chronic diseases, while not
compromising content-related requirements.
§2
University unit whose task is to coordinate and perform tasks indicated in § 1
is the Office for Persons with Disabilities.
§3
In two months after a date of coming this Resolution into force, the Rector will
define detailed principles of its execution.
§4
The Resolution comes into force on the date of its issue.
