The Digital Book Library is a facility engaged in preparation of books for students, who are not able to read by themselves.
First of all they are the blind and impaired in vision students and persons with dyslexia.
Books are recorded and offered to the students on CD-audio discs. Special format of recording enables students to locate given pages, chapters and subchapters.
This way their work resembles reading an ordinary, printed book. Books are recorded by volunteers.
Apart from books recorded on CD-audio, the Library stores items as text files. This way a student can read a book using a computer.
In order to read an ordinary book in such a way, it has to be scanned and processed by a print recognition software. A file obtained in this way
is then read on using a computer with a speech synthesizer or is printed in Braille.
